Doulas provide support and information to families as they go through their birth experience, and into the postpartum period. There are labor doulas who support parents while they are giving birth, and postpartum doulas who support families after they give birth. This is not a complete list of all of the doulas that provide services in Kitsap County.     We also list monitrices. A monitrice is often a midwife or nurse who is acting as a labor doula. They are able to offer additional services that doulas can not, like checking vital signs, heart tones, etc. Talk with your monitrice about the specific skills she offers.
